- Call 000 if you are afraid or in imminent danger.
- Call 1800RESPECT to talk to someone safely and confidentially about your personal situation. If appropriate you will be referred to a family violence organisation in your local area. This service operates 24/7 and also links women in danger to a crisis response team.
At Next Steps Australia Ltd, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations to support our work in helping families affected by domestic violence in Australia.
Accordingly, together with our partners The Fundraising Centre, we are currently conducting a telephone fundraising campaign throughout Australia.
The campaign has been very successful so far, with many generous Australians donating towards the cause.
We plan to raise $1,000,000 over 5 years to ensure that we can support as many mums and children affected by domestic violence as possible.
To help keep the cost of fundraising low, some of the calls start with a pre-recorded message – but they’re always transferred to one of our team members in Australia, as soon as someone indicates an interest in making a donation.
We’re always looking to improve our processes and welcome any feedback for our fundraising team.
